Philosophy of Education

RCA is a ministry of Riverlawn Christian Church in conjunction with Riverlawn Christian Academy. The Christ-centered educational philosophy of RCA seeks to give students an opportunity to understand and see their world, life and education through a Christian perspective based on God's Truth as revealed in the Holy Bible. Our aim is to enable each student to develop a Christ-centered worldview.

RCA believes we must prepare our students to effectively understand the role God has prepared for them at home, at work, in society, and especially, in the body of Christ.

RCA's philosophy is distinctly different from secular educational philosophies. Non-Christian philosophy ignores God's existence, purpose or sovereign involvement in our lives. Secular education puts humanity at the center of all existence, rather than the Lord God. This philosophy develops students who only see the world and life in human terms and not through the lens of God's truth.

Therefore, RCA will apply Biblical principals and truths in all subject areas. Our philosophy will guide all decisions that are made regarding curriculum, teaching practices, methods, policies and procedures. The Board of Trustees, administrator, director, teachers, staff members and volunteers actively seek to implement this philosophy in real, practical ways on a daily basis.
